Villa Rhenen

‘The home that architect André de Vos designed for us is a perfect interpretation of what we had dreamt of for years but were not able to come up with. We had a binder full of pictures of homes, mostly from around the Mediterranean. We spoke the same language, that much was clear, and when it was time for the presentation and design, an odd sense of peace settled over us: this is it.

Architecture with a clear sight line
The architecture is linked to a single sight line: a path which starts in the front garden and runs via the six metre high front door, through the home, along the swimming pool in the back garden, ending at the guest house. The secluded front gives us a lot of privacy, but the back of the house actually has a very open character. Patios and verandas embrace the dark swimming pool.’
